General FAQ's

Custom Printed T-shirts

Q
: What is your minimum order
A: Our minimum order is 48 pieces.

Q: Can I order shirts even if I’m not having an event?
A: Yes. We print custom T-shirts for a lot of companies and individuals.
Q: Can I mix sizes, colors and styles?
A: Yes. As long as the design will fit on the garment and the colors do not interfere with the design. Some designs will work on both light and dark colored garments. Certain designs need to be separated in a different way to print on multicolored garments. If your not sure, send us a jpg to help you answer this.
Q: Can I get a sample of the garment before the production run?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I get a printed sample before the production run?
A: Yes. To receive a printed sample, you will be charged for a complete set up plus production / press time. This comes to about $70.00 per color. If changes are made after that point,  additional  set up charges may apply. Please contact us for more details.
Q: How long does it take to get my order finished?
A: We have a 7 to 10 working days turnaround time. An order can not be scheduled for production until the art work is finalized and approved.
Q: Can I get a few small shirts for my kids?
A: Yes. Be aware that in most cases, a design sized for an adult shirt will not fit on a youth garment. An average adult design is larger than a youth T-shirt. If you have a mix of adult and youth garment, two sets of color separation may be needed to accommodate all the sizes
Q: What about pockets?
A: A pocket print is a completely separate setup from a standard left chest location. The same goes for printing above the pocket. Mixing pocket prints and Left chest print location can increase the cost of your order. If possible, it's best to stick with one or the other. If you are on a budget, please note that pocket shirts cost more than the basic T-shirt.
Q: Do you print on sleeves?
A: Yes. Both short sleeves and long sleeves.
Q: Can I e-mail my own art work?
A: Yes. Be sure to review the graphics page.
Q: How big should my design be?
A: That is a tough question. You must consider the end use. It’s best to print your design on paper a few different sizes to get an idea what it will look like.
Here are a few general guidelines-
* Left Chest- averages 3.75” wide and Tall
* Full Front- 8” to 12” wide
* Full Back 10” to 12” wide
Q: What if I need help with my art work?
A: We have an art department that can help. If you need a 1 color design or a complex multi color design, we can help. Once we complete the design and you approve it, we can then schedule a production date for printing.
Q: Can I get a copy of my new logo?
A: Yes.
Q: How do I choose ink colors?
A: We stock 40 standard colors and a few specialty inks. You can click here and download the ink chart for stock colors. If you don’t see the color you want, we can custom mix your desired color(s) if you provide us with a PMS number. We do charge a  fee of $20.00 per color for custom color matching.
Q: What is a PMS Number?
A: PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. Pantone is the world’s only universally accepted color communication language. Basically colors are converted to numbers. When a customer request that we print the design with PMS 185 ( red ink ), we will know exactly what red our customer is looking for.

Q: Can you match colors?
A: Yes. If you can provide a PMS number, we can match it. If printing on a white shirt- the color match will be 99.9%. When printing on dark colors, the match will be very close. With certain orders, you may want a printed sample.
Q: What does "pre-shrunk" really mean?
A: It is NOT pre-washing the fabric. It is a process where the bolted, uncut fabric is run through rollers containing tiny nubs that press the fabric over the nubs, creating grooves which condense it. This puckered shrinking effect then allows for real shrinking when washed. Therefore, the fabric – not the shirt – is pre-shrunk before it is even cut and sewn.
Q: Can I get T-shirts that won’t shrink?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you guarantee that?
A: Yes.
Q: What shirt is that?
A: You will want to have your design printed on the Comfort Colors brand. It’s a True Garment Dye. It comes in 84 colors.

A: A True Garment Dye is a garment that is dyed after being completely sewn and finished. In the dying process, the hot water and heat in the drying phase shrink the shirt to size. No more shrinking, guaranteed.

A: Most brands offer T-shirts in Adult sizes SM-2XL. Some colors go up to 4 and 5XL. Youth sizes run SM-LG but some run XS- XL.
Q: I need a few 6XL’s. Can you get that for me?
A: Yes. We can help you out all the way to a 10XL.
Q: What is dye migration?
A: Dye migration is a result of dye (color) bleeding into the ink. Have you ever seen the pink design on a red shirt. This is most common with poly-cotton blend. It also can occur with some pigment dyed Garments.
Q: How do you avoid dye migration?
A: The only way to not have dye migration is to aviod using a 50/50 blend.

A: The effects of N.A.F.T.A. are still at play. Most T-shirts are manufactured south of the boarder. You can purchase American Made garments but you will pay a higher price for these.
Q: Do you recommend any particular brand?
A: Yes. If you go to the garment page on this site you will find links to the brands and mills that we approve of. Some brands are better than others, they usually cost more. So we have also included brands that are acceptable for printing and wearing that will fit most budgets.
